Have your ever been awakened from deep sleep by violent shaking, rolling floors and walls, toppling shelves, and a deafening roar ripping the air?
If so, you’ve likely experienced the shifting of the earth’s surface. In other words, an earthquake!
If the shift is violent enough, it can change your reality in a moment. Ask the people of Turkey and Syria.
We all experience sudden shifts in our life. A loved one’s death, an accident or illness, a divorce, losing a job, or fill-in-the-blank____. What defined you and your life one day is instantly replaced by a new existence.
Yet, in the face of devastation, why do some of us shift with the change in circumstances? While others wither?
In his book, Shift Happens!, Robert Holden talks about how some people “go” through life; and others “grow” through life. He celebrates your unlimited potential to grow, blossom, and evolve. Despite everything, you choose to lean into an inner transformation.
“When we are no longer able to change a situation,
we are challenged to change ourselves.”– Viktor Frankl,
WWII Concentration Camp Survivor and author of, Man’s Search For Meaning
Yes, you can overcome. And even flourish in your new reality. How?
“With one act of surrender, one change of heart, one leap of faith.”
Do you believe there’s a well of resilience within? Do you trust there’s a river of well-being flowing in your deepest self?
Let’s take a leap of faith. Let’s surrender. Let’s connect with that river now.
Listen to and be guided through the River Meditation HERE.
I invite you to close your eyes. Take three deep cleansing breaths.
Now imagine you’re standing high on a mountain top looking at a river flowing across the landscape below. See how it curves and meanders. It flows around the mountain base. It wends its way across the plain. The river runs swift and narrow through the valleys. And in other places spreads itself out like a woman’s silk skirt.
If its way is obstructed, then it goes around the obstruction. Or under it or over it, flowing past it. Everything yields to the river eventually.
If it goes through a dry country seeping into the ground out of sight, it’s still there. The next rain revives it. And on it flows. Bringing life to all.
At times the river gurgles, splish-splashing a playful melody. While other times it roars swiftly through the canyons carving a path with forceful purpose.
Feel the unstoppable strength, power, and persistence of the river.
The river is within you. The river of Well-being.
“You are not broken by grief – you are broken open.”
Love all around, above, below, to the left and to the right, before you and behind you,
Georgena
